this album discusses the act of grieving through the spiritual practices of alchemy.

rather than being a striving for riches alchemy was a spiritual process in which the act of spiritual cleansing is mirrored in the raising of base metals (such as lead) to gold (alchemists believed they where the same material) through the removal of the spiritual impurities in the base materials.

the colours in the artwork are the colours of the alchemical process - from black to white to yellow and finally red.
