this release is an attempt to represent the three nights of tenebrae using the length of each night as the duration of the piece.

the tenebrae is the ritualistic stripping of the alter for three days before easter sunday and is latin for 'darkness.'

these three pieces should not be understood as individual works but as a unified whole.
