composed as part of a collaboration with a spoken word artist on robert mapplethorpe.

the sound source is Bach's setting of John's Passion. The intention was to mimic mapplethorpe's use of classical compositional techniques in his photographs of gay male bdsm.

the album is prefaced by the following paraphrase from john's gospel:

And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also of his disciples? He replied ‘I was with him to the last and with him in joy also and I was fuck and fucked and our joy transcended this world and I never denied him.’
