about

this piece came about after discussing a paper with alex temple which discussed trans embodiment in music. we both felt that the paper had multiple issues and this is a reductio ad absurdum regarding one of them.

if a jokes worth making once it's worth making 23 times

so i didn't explain the joke and, in retrospect, that's not funny.

the paper made repeated snipes at post-structuralism but set up multiple binary oppositions which had barley surpassed value judgements attached to this. in this album i wanted to show how rediculious this approach is. even the title is itself a binary opposition but one that has had it's terms reversed and to understand why that's a thing you're going to have to read some french stuff.
