one of the things you can do when working with folk song is to choose what version of a song you work with. here i have stripped out two verses from this song about two sisters who hid themselves away from the plague in perthshire only for the young man who loved one of them to infect them.

in my version i have chosen to focus on the mechanics of the story only and produce a text which, i think, is more abstracted.
