three lowland songs

by elizabeth veldon

/
1.

about

i'm working with two other artists to compile an album of tracks about the lowlands of scotland which are, more often than not, represented as cultural wastelands in much of scottish art (particularly in poetry)

these improvisations around three lowlands songs where recorded in one take on the 14th of january 2014.

i used a celviano ap-245 and a tascam dr-40.

the text of 'bleacher lassie o kelvinhaugh' i use has been borrowed from dick gaughan. his web site contains allot of lowlands songs and extensive notes and is highly recommended: www.dickgaughan.co.uk/songs/index.html
