about

this track came to me last night when i stumbled out of bed at 2.30am to feed the cat and i saw the still bright sky.

it is based upon a note in jon stallworthy's (ed.) two volume edition of the works of wilfred owen and relates to the poem 'futility'

stallworthy finds a source for the image of the sun '[waking] ...the clays of a cold star' in john davidson's 'thirty bob a week'
