this album is based upon virginia woolf's diaries from the time that she wrote 'between the acts' and deal with her fears of invasion

the first track is based upon her feelings at being asked to 'represent' t.s. elliot at the funeral of ottoline morell:

'i must read roger: & go to ott's memorial service, representing also t. s. elliot at his absurd command'

the fourth track takes it's title from h.d.'s 'trilogy,' one of the two great poetical works dealing with the effect of total war on a civilian population. while 'between the acts' specifically references elliot's 'four quartets' throughout the work i choose this other work to balance elliot's 'absurd command'

the other tracks deal with specific passages from her diaries, including her writing of her fears of the effect of invasion on her as a british jew (her and her husband planned to kill themselves should this happen) while the final track takes the final words of the novel.

i have taken some time to release this album as i felt it could be crass to discuss a jewish woman's fear of invasion during world war two and the third track is one i was very hesitant to give a title to.

this album, given it's subject matter, will be a 'pay what you like' release.

any parallels with the present situation in the world have to be found by the listener, i am not here to dictate your reaction.
